The toddler classroom is planned and prepared especially so that the entering child may experience a sense of achievement in work activities, while the continuing child finds stimulation and challenge.

Great emphasis is placed upon lessons of self-care, gross motor skills, sensory education and verbal and auditory language development. A child need not be toilet learned to enter the toddler class.

The same Montessori philosophy and approach seen in the preschool class guides the progression of the toddler class. Prescribed goals for toddlers include: (1) to develop body coordination, image and awareness, (2) to strengthen their senses of independence, self-direction, and concentration, and (3) to expand beginning social skills.
