New School Year: 2015-2016
Dear Children’s House Family,
It’s hard for me to believe that it is already time to make plans for the next academic school year.
During these two weeks, our CH teachers and staff will be devoted to classroom and curriculum preparation. We will also be addressing some maintenance and repair issues in the campus buildings. The Red Down bathroom is being renovated into a new cubby room. Travis Kroner has generously donated his time and talents to help us execute this project, and my husband, Hojong will put a wooden floor down for it.
It is my mission and dream to work well for the children at Children’s House. I have three children myself and from them I have learned about a parents’ concern for their children’s education. I’ve found that it is only when our children feel loved, secure, and safe that they can fully express their innate intelligence. Every one of our Children House’s children is special to me, as is the relationship with you. It is important to me that you know my door is always open to you. Please do not hesitate to let me know about any questions, concerns, (or compliments!) you might have.
This weekend, August 7th, 8th, and 9th, certain back-to-school purchases will be exempt from any sales tax. I always had a great time going back-to-school shopping with my son and daughters and I believe you and your children will probably enjoy the same experience. The children tend to get very excited about caring for their supplies – it gives them a sense of responsibility and ownership over their environment.
To this end, I have attached a recommended list of school supplies that all Children’s House students and teachers would use and share throughout the year. You may purchase these supplies if you feel inclined to do so – any donations are always appreciated.
Thank you all, as always, for your continued support of Children’s House.
