Eagle Bear Presentation

on Oct 9, 2015 |

This morning,  Eagle Bear and his family, our friends from Colorado, convened on our patio to demonstrate some folkways from their Apache heritage. They performed traditional dances and shared stories for all our friends.  The stories imparted lessons on the importance of being kind to all creatures with a heart.  They also introduced our students to the idea of being a ‘peaceful warrior,’ which is most easily explained as being someone who fights for peace.

Everyone was invited to participate in the dancing, and to touch animal skins, of which there were bear, fox, and coyote varieties. We had a great time, and I’m sure your child will have a few things to say about it this evening.

Enjoy the photos!
